96 100 zxi questions

I recently installed a new impeller and after reinstalling the pump I noticed the drive shaft has a noticeable horizontal play (approx. 1/4" or more). Is this normal? Will it wear out the coupler damper? Also, the new aftermarket damper I purchased is smaller than the original and I was told it would work, but I`m having doubts. The part # is 003-201 from WSM performance parts, if anyone has any experience with this I`d appreciate the help. Thanks.

If the shaft is bent it will wear other items on the drive line like bearings, couplers.

The coupler is the correct part number for all Kawasaki's
