I installed the oil block off kit after replacing the block on my 97 Kawasaki 1000 STX. I removed the oil tank. How do I get the oil warning light to go off and still get warnings about temp and gas?

Re: oil warning light after block off kit
I am not sure how yours is wired, but I just disconnected the connector, for the wires that went to the oil tank. I did not jump them together, and the fuel gauge still works fine, and I would assume that the temp warning would still work.

Re: oil warning light after block off kit
The oil tank sending unit does not send the signals to make the temp or fuel light come on. They are a separate circut. You can unplug the temp sensor and the temp light shoud not come on. If you jump the wires leading to the fuel tank sending unit it should read a full tank.
You may have disconnected it by mistake when you were working.Providing mobile JetSki service to the Charlotte / Lake Wylie area.

Re: oil warning light after block off kit
apparently people dont read very well here...
he never said anything about the fuel or temp not working, he just wanted to make sure that they would...
You should just be able to unplug the green 2 pin connector that used to run to the oil tank. Thats it, no jumping required!
Did you possibly plug something into it thats not supposed to be?
I assume you mean an 1100, theres no such thing as a 1000 Kawasaki...

Re: oil warning light after block off kit
On my 96 STS 750 all I had to do was unplug it. I assumed that I would need to jump it to complete the circuit but it was not necessary. It's not high performance unless it's cryo-treated!
