Impellar Removal

I really need some help guys. I am trying to put a new impellar on my 900 zxi. I have removed everything except the pump shaft,impellar,driveshaft. The problem i am having is getting the pump shaft off, so i can get the impellar off. I relize i am missing something. Do the two shafts screw together at the i mpellar? Details Please!:emoticonb

UMMMM I dont think that should have come apart that way the shaft behind the impeller should have stayed with the guide vanes. the impleller is splined to the drive shaft on the engine side of the impeller so if you pull on the impeller it should come off with the pump all in one piece but the way it is now you should be able to pull back and the short shaft and impeller should come off. to remove the impeller from the pump you will need a impeller tool to fit inside of the intake side of the impeller good luck
