650sx what does it take to put in a 750

I have a 88 kawasaki 650sx. I just barely bought it two weeks ago, and ran the hell out of it the first weekend I had it. This last weekend got two or three rides out of her, and she started pouring out smoke out of the pisser fitting on the left side of the ski. I think it overheated, I am new to two stroke engines.Anyway I shut it down as soon as it started smoking. I still start and run her, but she runs like crap. I was thinking instead of fixing the engine I have, I would rather put in a kawasaki 750sx engine. I was wanting to know what mods i would have to do or if its just a straight swap.

Hello, I just finished putting a 750 dual carb into a 87 650sx. The swapp will be fairly staight forward if you have access to the 750 electrical box. I used the stock 750 intake and carbs and the 650 west coast pipe and exhaust mainfold. The 650 was pretty hopped up so I have yet to do any prop changes but the engine isn't broken in yet. I am having a problem with the pipe blowing apart at the joint between the two pipe halves. Hopefully i just need to clean the joint good and reinstall. Also about mods to the 750 eng. If you don't have the 750 electrics you will have to modify the front of the cases to take the 650 stator and flywheel. Hope this helps.
