  • Slow Crawl

My Ultra 150 seems to have a slow crawl speed. Once I do get the hull out of the water though, I can get it up to about 60 mph in choppy water. Is this normal?

    Re: Slow Crawl

I have no clue what you are trying to describe by 'slow crawl speed'. Do you mean it has poor power at lower throttle positions? If so, do a compression check, and if that looks good (about 120/cylinder) rebuild the carbs.

      Re: Slow Crawl

When I say crawl speed, I mean how long it takes to get the hull on top of the water. On a side note, what rpm should it be idleing at? Right now I have it at 1500, but I think I should be closer to 2000.

        1500 in the water.

Do you mean the engine revs up and you don't go, or does the engine not rev up?

The engine revs up just fine, but I rev up to about 4-5000 rpms and it takes about 5-7 seconds for me to get up to about 30 mph. After that everything works just fine.
