starting problems (starter maybe)

i jump start my wave runner and it seem like i have not enough juice to crank over. aslo it will turn over for about 10 seconds before power drains out. Also it get the power cables and jumper cables very hot can any one help with getting my jetski running again. Or can some one help me can it be a bad bendix from the starter.

it sounds like the brushes in your starter ar bad. i would replace the starter.

try getting a new battery first. I had the same issue with my 750. Would turn over and no spark. Battery would be on charge all night and drop dead after a few turns of the starter, You can check the voltage but it wont tell you if there is a weak cell A new battery is far cheaper than a starter to try to test with first.

yes it turns over but just for about 10 seconds. But when turnining over it sound like a rattling noise coming from the bendix like if the starter was grinding on the fly wheel. I took the starter out and it looks ok no wear on the gears.
