  • 2000 ZXI Idle speed?

My 2000 ZXI is Idle is about 1500 RPM. In water. The ski just goes with out even giving it
    gas?

    Seems bit hi to me?

1500 may be a little high, and you can bring it down using the throttle stop, but you wouldnt want to do it too much otherwise you'll get hesitation from dead stops. Yes ski's move without gas, its the nature of the beast, you'll just have to adapt, theres no nuetral or reverse on that ski Im aware, and to stop you just have to ajust your drift angle, and shut off the engine to dock or otherwise.

Mine is idling around 12-1300 according to the factory tach. I think thats close to what the manual says it should be.

That is completely normal, and skis are NOT supposed to be stationary at idle. set idle to 3000 out of the water - it falls lower in the water.
