  • She Blew Again !!!

Have about 7 Hrs on the new SBT motor and it is locked up. I have been watching the compression and the plugs since I installed it and both looked good. Today I ran it around the lake with no problem but what was doing a lot of the circle stuff and and digging in the water when it locked up. I think I may have been doing the same thing the day before it blew last time. The last time it blew a part of the front (#1) piston skirt came off. This time the #1 plug looked very white (Very Lean) and the other two plugs looked fine. Is there something that goes bad in an ULTRA that would lean it out when doing multiple
    circles (Leaning Hard) ??

all carbed skis will lean when doing hard turns . but unless your carbs are set wrong it should not damage the engine . you should inspect them

Simple question: Did you rebuild the carbs during either of the previous block replacements?

        Carb. Rebuild

The carbs have never been rebuilt.

That's EXACTLY why you are blowing engines! Your carburetors are clogged up and need to be cleaned and rebuilt!

Although there is no specific carb cleaning guide available here for the CD-CV carbs on your ski, the basic principles shown in the CDK-II guide should help you to complete the project without any difficulties. http://www.sbtontheweb.com/pdfs/keihincdk2.pdf

You can buy all the parts (gaskets, check valves, o-rings, diaphrams, springs) from any Kawasaki Dealer.

                Parts

I know I can purchase the parts, I was just asking are there particular ones I should get from the dealer or just replace them all.

                Also:
I need to send my engine in for a warranty replacement but since I live in Michigan my Ski is done for the summer. What is SBT's slowest winter month ?? Figure I will send it in when you are slow ...

                Thanks
