900STX bendix removal Question

New to ski's but not new to mechanical issues. My question is what is the best practice on removing the bendix? Remove the motor or can it be done in the ski? I have a service manual for torq specs etc...Also, what gaskets should I order if I do this job? Any super special...'oh yeah' you need one of those tools to do the job? By the way it is a 1998 900STX.
