  • Do I need new crank seals

I purchased a 96 STS 750 with a woofed motor. It had been rebuilt but it was obvious that the piston clearance was much too large. The stator side piston had large gouges on all sides. The other piston was in good condition. The PO said he only ran 1 tank of gas through it and it was done again. I looked at the article on engine failure and I believe that that piston was running low on oil. I plan to switch to premix. Would it be a good idea to replace the crank seals since it is apart? Would I need to split the case or can they be extracted from the outside? I am thinking that since it doesnt look like a lean burn down, that I would just leave the bottom end as is. What do you think? Also I am at 81mm now and I plan to go to 82mm with a wisco top end kit Any problems with that?
