  • zxi 1100 - leaking driveshaft seal

    Hello, and greetings!

I have recently acquired a 'slightly pre-owned' 97 zxi 1100, and long story short the previous owner obviously sank it. after many trips to the shop and many moneys later, it still didnt run. eventually turning it over, premixing oil, and dumping stp jet fuel in it got it going.

but in our latest adventure, water pours into the compartment where the driveshaft goes through the body towards the impeller. I assume this would just be referred to as the 'driveshaft seal'. [if not let me know!]. whatever it's called, its almost completely gone.

anyways... 2 questions.. where can i get a new seal.. and where can i get my hands on directions to install it myself? getting the seal is the easy part - the part I'm really getting after is the how-to, so i can avoid a $600 charge to have the shop do it.

thanks so much for your time, look forward to talking to you!

Just the seal is dealer only, and the procedures are in the Service Manual,
    also available through a dealer.
