  • ST750 Engine oil pump failure inspection

I have a ST750 that apparently had the oil pump fail. The jet-ski lost power and was turned off almost immediately. Did a check of piston height before removing the head and checked the condition of the bearings in the bottom end and they look ok. The cylinder walls were not scored, but part of the piston skirt on the exhaust side of cylinder 1 broke off and I’ve been unable to locate any of the pieces. Any idea where the pieces could have gone? Also, are there any other components that I should check? The pistons have a “1.00” stamped in the top, which I assume means its oversize. Does SBT offer oversize piston kits?

Yes we offer 1.00 size pistons you should check for bore size and roundness with a bore gauge before you order any parts.

Thanks. I found another problem a lttle further down. Looks like the case has a hole. Going for a complete rebuild at this point.
