Head gasket blown? Running hot

I have a 92 750sx that is running hot. When in water, it runs good, but water is on and off out of side. Out of water with hose hooked up, water streams good out the side, but still running hot. In water after shutting off, hot steam comes out of side port for a few seconds. Blew out all cooling lines, and everything looks clear. Jet pump area all clear. Could it be a head gasket? Thanks for any info.

Could be a issue with impeller to pump clearance, not enough water getting pushed up into the motor for cooling.
