  • Jet pump noise

    Hi again,

I am here again, I take the engine out of the hull yesterday, I am looking here for some prices.

My question is; When I try to spin the jet pump with my hand it make some small noise as a rubbing of the metal, I think is because the jet ski had 2 years with the engine broken. This noise will go's when I install the new engine?

    Thank you in advantage,

    Ale

    Re: Jet pump noise

All jet pumps make noise, but the impeller should not have any side to side play, if it does then rebuild the pump. If you have too much clearance between the impeller and the wear ring the ski will cavitate and possibly over heat. Check for clearance and check for bearing wear. If everthing looks good then go with it.

      ok,

let me see, if I got it

the impeller should not have any side to side play
there is not movement when I push and pull the impeller, the only movement is when I spin the impeller and is when has a noise.

      thank you,
