Crank lubrication when using oil blockoff kit

Had oil blockoff kit installed as suggested when I installed new SBT engine in Kawasaki 1100ZXI. Engine is making loud clanking noise when starting up in driveway. Don't know if this is OK or not, but it has me wondering how the crank gets lubricated when the oil reservoir is blocked?
