My Ultra has about 75 hours on it. Nothing has been doone to this boat other than standard maintenance with the exception of the impeller has been repaired due to a gravel bar. I have a buddy that has a 2000 Ultra with the same set up as mine. His top end is slightly faster than mine. I want that to end. Ever since I had the impeller repaired it seems to have dropped a little on the top end. I want to get faster than his. Do I replace the impeller or some other mod? I don't want to break the bank either. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

make sure that the seal between the intake grate and ride plate is good. take the two apart and use RTV sealer between all mating surfaces.Then bolt back on smooth out all rtv that might buldge out -
