  • New Ultra 150 motor wont start Help!!

2000 Ultra 150 with a SBT reman motor wont start.

Crank melt down, so got a short block.
Motor was running (obviously) when it threw a rod out the bottom of case.

New motor in the case, and it wont start. Wont even try. Getting spark, cause it back fires with a little gas down the carb. Fuel pump is pumping reeds in correctly. Just doesnt seem to be getting any fuel. Checked carb "bowls" and all is clean and good.

What am I missing? And how can I check it? Was reading about the flywheel any how it needs to be alined. Can you check it without pulling the motor?

Please, if you have an idea, post how to check/fix it with your idea.

Was thinking timing, but how can you mess that up?

Your flywheel timing is off, there are marks on the magnet cup and the flywheel that must be in the correct position to work. Do you have a factory manual?, it will be shown there.
