  • Oil Problem - 1992 Kawasaki 750 SS

First start of the season the other night. Started with water hooked up to flush kit.
When it started, seemed to run fine. After shutting down and re-starting several
times we noticed oil dripping out of the exhast. Most of the oil from the oil tank drained out the exhaust and the low oil light came on.

What kind of problem am I look at here? What regulates the flow rate of oil? If the oil pump failed would the oil just drain
out of the oil tank and exit through the exhaust?

Should I do a compression check and if thats ok, either replace the oil pump or use a block off kit?

    Thanks.

Oil will not just drain into the exhast system, If you are having problems with the oil injection it is easier to just convert to an oil block off kit and pre mix your gas and oil. Make your mix 40:1, = 3.2 oz of oil to every 1 gal. of gas. If the oil pump is stuck in wide open then you are just seeing way to much oil getting dumped into the system, replacing pumps can be expensive so just go pre mix.

      Thanks for the Reply.

Can the Oil Pump be removed without removing the motor?

      Thanks Again.
