I just installed a new sbt engine, pump and rebuilt the carbs on my 99 1100. Rode great for a few days, then started to shut down after a while. Restarted immediately and rode fine for a few minutes then shut again. I noticed the engine was hot and the pisser wasnt leaking on the side of the engine. Noticed the forward spark plug was grey (other 2 were fine), but pisser worked when hooked up to the hose on land. The top exhaust pipe was cool but rest of the engine was very hot. Could I have a cooling system blockage? WHat is the best way to test it and correct the problem? Ski was running perfect before this. Also, temp light never came on. Does the engine shut down automatically when the temp gets too hot??
