  • How to identify motor out of ski

I bought a Kawasaki jet ski motor for an upgrade. Is there any identification numbers or other criterion or labeling stamped on the motor to tell if it is a 500, 650, 750, 900, or etc., once it is out of the original ski?
Kinda hard to buy parts for something if you don't know what it is.

I am rebuilding a 750 motor and it has numbers stamped on the reed plate side of the block. Don't know how common this is, but they are easily seen and I am guessing that yours does not have these. I work on Tigershark /Kawasaki all the time but still can't say for sure if I see these or not. I think my Tigershark is stamped on the exhaust side at the base of the cylinder.

The 550s and 440s looks totally different from all the others and the 550 sx motor, Bore size would indicate what it is. 650 and 750 bore size too would tell what motor along with the bolt pattern on the reed housings. 900 and 1100 also will tell what motor it is. Look on our SBT site under each motor for different identifiers.
