? For Bryan (Kawasaki 550)

Bryan or anyone else that can help. I purchased an old kawasaki 550 standup a couple weeks back for 75. I talked to you before and you said I need to rebuild the carb. Well since the weather sucks here in Dallas I figured today would be the perfect day to work on this. I know it is a Mikuni carb but I don't know which kind. I downloaded the tech page on how to remove it but I need to know what type it is so i can buy the rebuild kit for it and so I can know how to take it apart. I am going to take it out now and I will check back on this board in about 30 min. Thanks again. -Joey

I don't remember if they swiched at a certain point from Mikuni BN to Mikuni SBN...I woul dbet they didn't. Anyway, if the pump body is round, it's a BN. If it's rectanular, it's an SBN. If you just download each guide, you can just compare the pictures and it will be obvious.
