    Hello,

I need to replace the spark plug wire on the #1 cylinder. The wire is broke right at the cdi box. Should i replace just the wire or should i get a whole new coil and the wire. I looked up the parts on the web but it seems a little vague. Could i just buy a spark plug wire and put it on the coil and be done with it??? thanks for the help

I don't know about the Kawis, but on the Polarises they are one piece and must be replaced as a unit (Coil and Wire). How did the wire break anyhow? Just curious.

      It's 1 piece (coil+wire) on a Yamaha, about $35 +/-, then add $30 for the boot-wire end.

As far as I know, every single ski uses a wire/coil assembly.

No, you can replace just the wire. All you have to do is pull it out of the coil. There is a pin inside the coil which probes into the core of the spark plug wire when you push it into the coil. Be sure the end of the wire and the inside of the coil where the wire goes is nice and clean. And be sure that the pin is not bent to the side. After inserting the wire, pump some silicone in around the wire to fill in the space. I've done this a few times already. I've used pre-made universal automotive spark plug wires from Auto Zone by cutting the connector off of one end. Getting the wire to slide through the clamps to get into the electrical box requires some care and some grease.

          Good Luck

According to the Kawasaki Microfiche, it's a one piece assembly. Be careful if you choose to rig it yourself.
