1996 SS would intake grate help me?

I have a 1996 650 SS, it has a hard time on takeoff. It just seems to take a while to get going but has plenty of top end. It is different than my 96XP or my Yamaha, which both take of fast. Would intake grates help this to? Where and how much do these cost. Are they hard to install? Thanks Dave

It would only help you if your problem is hookup - if you are just spinning the prop, then no it wouldn't help - you have a cavitation problem. It can be solved by either repairing the prop/pump if it's damaged by chips, dents, etc. - or by resealing the whole pump, as you may have a bad seal.
