  • 900ZXI Pulse vacume line

I have a SBT engine that ran for about 25 hours, that is until the first piston towards the front of the ski locked up. I've taken the engine out and looked at the piston through the exhaust port. The piston looks dry and scored. Its definetly locked up. I noticed that the pulse vacume line that goes to the carb that was supposed to be feeding fuel to this piston has a 1 inch teer in it. My question is, could this be the cause of the failure? I tested the oil pump, it pumps out the same amount of oil out of each supply line.

Absolutely. That is the line that drives the fuel pump. You starved it for fuel, and lean seized & detonated it.
