• How to Purge Air from Oil Injection Lines?

I have air in the 4 individual injection lines coming from the pump to the engine. What is the process to purge the air. Will the bleed screw do this or does this only work for the line from the tank to the pump? This is on a '01 STX DI. Thanks...

You have 3 lines running from the pump to the engine, and a feed line between the pump and the tank. The bleed screw allows clearing of the feed line. The 3 injection lines don;t get bled - they get primed. Idle the ski, and manually advance the pump to wide open - after about 10 seconds, the lines will be filled.

Byran, Can engine damage occur due to lack of oil, during the time it takes to prime the lines?
FYI; the DI motor has 4 lines. The 4th lubes the front crank bearing. Thanks for your response.

Oh really? I didn't know that!

a few seconds at idle will do no damage. There is plenty of residual oil in there for that time.
