how do I bypass the orange y switch on my zxi1100

Someone suggested that the ski would turn over but not spark if this switch were bad. So I need to find out how to bypass the switch and see if its the culpret.

Detatch the switch harness, and on the ski side, jump the red & red/white wires.

ok, heres what I did...... I cut all four wires. so do I need to jump the red and red/white and leave the others disconnected or do I need to reconnect the other two wires as well?

Leave the other two disconnected.

Got on good spark and then no more. Then my neg end to my battery came off so it looks like a Sunday project.
