My friends X2 quit running. Last night I pulled the plugs and checked for spark and there was none. It cranks fine, so I can rule out the starter solenoid, what would you check next? The CDI is easy to swap on these so I will go there next, what about the Volt Regulator, could that be the culprit? I am hoping it is not the stator, is there a way to test it without pulling it out and putting a new one in? I have everything else besides the stator in spare parts from an SX and anther X2, so they are easy to swap around. The only other stator I have is in my ski, which I do not want to pull out as it is way too much work, being a 650 in a 550 hull!!!!
Where would you start and does anyone have these parts, so that I may get them quickly when I find the culprit?
BTW...I pulled out the front cover plug and opened the hood to allow it to dry out, should I spray some contact cleaner into the hole on the front cover? I figured maybe some water got in there.
