    Just got my engine back ad it was determined that the failure was due to "a leak at base gasket." What does this mean exactly. Thanks for the info.

    It means there was an airleak at the base gasket, that caused detonation. Most likely it was our fault, during assembly.

      So, I can assume then that my oil pump was not at fault and can put it back together with th oil pump intack. If that had been an issue I am confident that you guys would have picked it up.
