  • 1994 & 1995 Polaris SL-750's Are these good ???

    Howdy guys.

I'm new here and looking at buying a set of Polaris SL-750's one 1994 & one 1995. I dont know much about PWC's as my addiction is 100+ mph Mod-VP tunnel hull boats.

They are both in real nice shape and on a double 1997 trailer.

What do you think the whole package is worth and are there any problems to watch for on these rigs ?

    Thanks much.

    Randy.

Well First Of All Dont Expect These To Be Speed Demons. They Are Good Runabouts And Do Require A Bit More Maintaince Than Some Other Models. The Main Issue With Both These Skis Is The Stock Fuel Pump. Its Design Causes A Lean Condition To The Front Carb On These Motors. There Are Fixes For This. The Other Thing To Check Is Compression On Both Motors. Make Sure Your Are Above 110 Lbs And Equal. If You Are Into Outboards Like Myself You Know What Im Talking About. The Motors In These Are Manufactured By Fuji Industries And Do Not Exactly Have The Best Track Record Of Pwc Engines But Will Give A Decent Service Life If Maintained Correctly And Not Abused. As Far As The Price Those 2 Here In Texas In Good Shape With Double Trailer Would Bring Around $3000.00. Good Luck. By The Way I Run A 96 19.5 (sbw) Picklefork With A 2.5 Merc 265. Lots Of Good Stuff. 103 Mph Stalker Rader. My Wife Hates!!! It. My Toy.

      Thanks for the quick response.

The price is 3500. firm but the 95 has a new/ rebuilt motor with about 3 hrs. on it.

Yes I do work on outboards too and will take my compression tester along tomorrow when I ride them.

When you say not a speed demon what are we talking about here ? I'm not expecting great speed, I just want to have a couple around for some fun as we live on the lake and figure it's time we join the rest of them.

What kind of boat you got ? Never heard of a SCW.

I have a 19 ft. STV Euro Comp with a 2.5 / 260 Merc EFI. I just sold my STV Pro Comp without the motor.

      Thanks again for your input.

Scw.. Southern Composite Works. They Are A Local Company Out Of Galveston Tx That Build Custom Hand Laid Hulls. As Far As Speed On These Expect 48-52 For The 750 . Sounds Like They Will Be Perfect For What You Are Going To Use Them For. That Price Is Fair If You Think It Is. A Rebuilt Motor Is A Plus. Just Be Sure To Lake Test Them First If At All Possible .

Thanks for the input guy's but someone else was ahead of me and bought them.

Maybe it's for the best as I've had several people tell me to stick with Sea-Doo's or Yamaha's.

            I'll just keep looking.

I must disagree. I have a freind with a "94 750 and he can ride with his wife and I also ride with my wife.
But I will say it is not the easiest thing to get going with two riders.

Works fine with my 5 year old son (at 45 pounds). But a full size passenger creates a problem with porposing. To me - it is a single rider machine that has the capability to "hold" two people.
