polaris 2000 virage 700

i have a 2000 virage with an sbt engine with 30 hours... this ski fires up and runs great but if you turn it off it will not fire back up...wont crank ...wont do anything except work the bilge. if you open the seat and let the engine compartment cool off it will crank and fire fine...engine is not hot...head is not hot...and if you dont turn the engine off it will stay running....on off switch is fine....

Do you know if the sparkplugs are sparking when this happens? Check and let us know. If you are not getting spark when it acts up, there was an ignition fix for this ski. I think the fix turned out to be a diode that they jumpered into place. I don't remember the exact details, but your ski is doing exactly what they say it will do if it has this problem. The problem had something to do with the CDI still getting power and thinking that the engine was still running (when in reality its not). I will try to get those extra details and post them here.

I have a 2001 virage ... the ski fires up and runs great but if you turn it off it will not fire back up...wont crank ...wont do anything except work the bilge. If you pull the kill switch key off it cranks, ( no spark, so no start) if you open the seat and let the engine compartment cool off ( 20 minutes) it will crank and fire up ok, until you turn off again.
you had the same problem. did you replace cdi or fix. if so please tell me how.
