  • Wierd problem while riding...

Well, a couple months ago, I broke the driveshaft coupler on my '95 SL 650... So I took it to the dealer and they put in a new driveshaft and updated coupler. Everything was going great until I was making a long left turn and there was some noise then the boat died. It wouldn't run over 2mph at full throttle and it sounded like something was holding the motor back. I pulled it out of the water and there was no obstruction in the pump or broken impeller blade. I opened the seat and there was grease everywhere and the driveshaft was exposed! I thought there was supposed to be some kind of cover or something. What do you guys think happened??

The updated coupler is rubber between the coupler and the engine and it may have broken. Do you smell burnt rubber when it is running?
