SBT add-on fuel pump

Background--> 94 SL750 Polaris stock fuel pump

I have read that all you need to do to fix the lean condition is get a 780 fuel pump, or add a fuel pump sold by this fine web site, and..yes the three outlet everyone talked about before.
Well today I had the nerve to phone a ex-Polaris dealer in Calgary area, the 780 fuel pump is just over $500.00!!! No I dont think so. The add-on one sold by SBT looks like it would fit the bill.
Now the good part, if I use the additional fuel pump sold here, and the stock one goes south, wouldn't I end up with
a lean condition anyway?.

Yes if your stock pump tanks, so does your engine.

$500 is way out of the ballpark - someone looked up the wrong part number or misunderstood something. Call other dealers or check online like www.partsland.com

So... are you suggesting the safest way to go is a three outlet, or the 780 pump, insted of the add-on SBT sells?
BTW..I am not trying to defame your employer in this, but it seems strange to sell the add-on if it is not a solution and just a band-aid.

I've bought two pumps from Perfmoto. One in a kit with a fuel return line restrictor and fuel lines and one single pump. ($30-$60 range)Pumps also are available from http://www.heeters.com/watercraft.shtml
