  • '95 Sl 750 MFD and no start-Saga con't......

This ski has a regtangular type MFD. After cleaning connections and replacing the 1/4 amp fuse the MFD didn't work any better than before.

So....I figured I would just make it inop by removing the fuse.

The ski wouldn't start. I Replaced the fuse and (allot) of black oily stuff came out the exhaust when it finally started.

After everything cleared out, the ski ran just super great.

Question: What is the best way to kill the MFD ?-

The wiring schematic doesn't alude to the fuse having any effect on the ignition system. That I could trace.

    Thanks for any help........

Why kill it? I would just leave it. They are too expensive to replace.

Unplug all the wires leading to it and tape them up inside the box. That should do it.

I understand about disconnecting and securing with tape.... but...........Why did removing the fuse cause it not to start ????

If I disconnect it, will it start ????

I bet the electrical box is miswired. The red wire from the circut breaker should go to the terminals with the other red wired. Now the red wire that goes to the MFD should be connected to the terminal by itself on the other side of the fuse. So when you pull the fuse it only cuts power to the MFD.

That's sort of the idea I had. I'll investigate alittle further.
