  • Break In and Flush Kit

    I just put in a brand new SBT motor and want to take my time breaking it in. If I get a flush kit can I safely run it off the hose for as long as I want? Will this cause damage to the impeller or anything else?

    Also both times the motor blew up it was the center cylinder. How can I check if that carb is running lean. I looked around for carb videos but I haven't found them.

    Someone suggested bringing it to someone with a 'flow meter' but should I do that after or before the break in period. I don't want to damage the new motor but I am also anxious to get going.

    You shouldn't run a ski out of water for more than a few minutes, generally about 3 minutes is about as much as I'd let mine run on the hose. If you let it run too long you'll overheat the drive components.
