  • Polaris SL650 Propulsion system

I am getting noise from the Pump of my 92 SL650.. I recently rebuilt the engine and it seems to be running ok out of the water on the hose, but there is sound coming from the pump, its not vibration from improper alignment as far as I can tell. The driveshaft seems very balanced not wobbly at all... I also have a seadoo and know to replace the oil. Is there a way to grease the bearings in the pump on this polaris?? would anyone suspect they are at fault... checked the impeller and the wear ring clearance and it looks ok according to info on this site... forget exaclty what it was on top of my head. I dont have the right repair manual for this ski... I have the 96 and up models manual and dont see anything about this procedure. Any help or questions please let me know.

they all make a little pump rattle, especially out of the water. they are sealed bearings, so no oil og grease required. It might be a good idea to pull the rear pump cone and see if any water is in the bearing area. if water and rust are present, time to change the bearings, if none, then bolt it back together and go for a ride.
