i have a 02 polaris in the shop with a fuel problem { i think } if its anything like the OMC outboards . heres what it does , runs fine then idles high { 3k inwater} punch it it comes down to 1500 rpms then it will run up to 3k again , also when it acts up it will run at 4k very ruff , some times bog and stall . then POOF it runs fine . i think its a fuel pressur problem i have not really got into it i figured i would see if theres anyone who has had the same problems { maybe just a sensor ? } dealers here really have no clue . the guy had it in to a dealer last season and they put a new computer in it , didnt fix it .
