I had a 90 degree real thin ratcheting screwdriver that somewhat worked, it is a pain the only way is to loosen the carbs up to you can tilt them and do it from there, I have those on mine too I have mine apart right now, I was going to rig something up that I can just use my thumb to turn the adjustment, epoxing something like a dime onto it would be great if it would hold, so you could make the adjustment by spinning it with your thumb.

Those 90 deg screwdrivers are pretty easy to find - try home depot, sears, www.parkeryamaha.com etc.

Hot Seat sells tiny thumbwheels for the low speed screws for those carbs.

makes it real easy to get to them. Of course if you really want total carb control and throttle response, then you need our nifty carb mod, pics are ere.

I just used a pair of long needle nose pliers. For one they shouldn't need to be turned any more than 1/8 turn at a time and second they should turn VERY easy. I always pull the preather cover when doing it makes it much easer to do. JUst curious but what ski is it on? I've got a 2000 Virage tx and it was the same way after a rebuild...

Its off of a 97 sltx 1050. I just took the carbs off of the ski because i tried everything and nothing worked for me. (little patience) I talked to the tech at hot seat and they didnt have anything and hot products will not sell to me because i am not a dealer. Hopefully the stock setting will work. Wont know until tonight.

Took the ski out for the weekend. got the plug color nice and chocolately brown but till hestitates when i put her at WOT. I still have to feather her out to take off. Carbs have not been rebuilt for atleat 3 years. The reed valves i believe are OE. Could it be a reed valve? If so, what kind should i replace them with for the best economical performance? (best bang for buck)

Went out again today. Still the same thing. When u punch it, u about fall flat on your face. Lean? That was why the last engine failed. Still cant figure if its carb or reed valves. Want some idea before i start throwing money at the thing.
