  • Fuel line modifications

I just bought 1993 polaris motor to rebuild and put in my 1995 SLT750
I notice someone has installed some tees in between each of the three carbs
on the lower line supply. And they have blocked off the return upper line at the end. The pump is a mikuni but i dont no if is high volume or what. If it is what would be the part number ?

    Thanks

    Re: Fuel line modifications

That sounds very much like what was done to mine before I bought it - and in my case they kept the stock single output pump. The high volume (70lph) pump is a dual outlet and pentagon shaped - and that is what I used - I just swapped it in and used the existing plumbing. The triple outlet is not "high volume" (35lph) - but is sufficient. If your pump is a single outlet - it's most likely stock and needs to be changed.

Check out the mikuni site. they have pics and specs of all of the pumps. If yours is blue, change it.

Yes it is blue. So i can change it out and leave the existing plumbing Tees in place and Im good to go. Did you get you high volume Here?

        Thanks

          Re: Fuel line modifications

SBT offers addon pumps to the existing unit. I went with this one:

            Re: Fuel line modifications

Go with the one in scottso's link. cheaper, easier to install, and enough gas for even a heavily modded ski.

So this one is the add on or replaces the existing one?

Direct replacement. It even bolts up in the stock position.

                  Scottso,
How do you plumb a dual outlet pump for a 3 cylinder ski?

                    Re: Fuel line modifications

A TEE in between the 1&2 and 2&3 carbs. Cap the original input line to the fuel rail.

My dad has a house up there, and the trip is pretty much routiune. I have to go this weekend because it's his birthday. The only real difference is that the invite will say bring bathing suit & towel, BEER, and dino juice. I don't plan on limiting my ski use all that much because this is the last big summer weekend and i just got paid!
However,Next year is going to be a different story if this war dosn't start to pay off.

I hear ya. Gonna have to wonder about the ATV's I have for myself and my son too. They are all going to be too thirsty for me to afford. Not to mention transporting them.
