Re: 1994 Polaris SLT SBT Motor Problems
I won't forget the loctite! I just want to know what might be happening on the rear seals. I have instaled my fair share on SBT motors in the past, but this one takes the cake. I'm wondering if there might be a problem with a crank jig, or assmeble. I understand that the 1st SBT motor on this ski might have had a problem with the sheered woodruff key, causing the seal to blow. But the 2nd motor not having a sheered key, and still haveing the blown out seal, don't make much sense. The first motor only spun 42 rpm, and the second only 5000 rpm. Could it be possible that the 2nd motor was the 1st motor only rebuilt? I don't know. I do, know that I have spent alot of time pulling/installing/testing this ski, and i'm thinking that the motor might be the problem. My customer said that the ski ran excellent up unil the ski blew, so I more than likely, the electronics etc are still working correctly.
