  • Odd cylinder on 1050 triple

I have a 97 SLTX that just got back from the shop, under warranty. It came back with the center cylinder replaced. The part number on the new cylinder is 5131081. The other 2 are original, and the numbers are 3021019, which are late model cyls.

Any clue on the difference, other than a noticable exhaust port height?

    Thanks for the help,
    Del

Re: Odd cylinder on 1050 triple

After some digging, I figured it out.

The 5131081 is an early model lower horsepower, low port cyl.

The 3021019 is the Higher horsepower, high port cyl. This one came standard on the later year model 81mm equipped engines.
