Bad Waterbox???

could a bad water box, cause excessive heat to come off it? I have posted before, about my 93 SL 750 overheating, and have had no luck. I ve checked all coolong lines, and they are clear of any debris. I did find, that the thermostat was shot, so i removed that. THe prblem i have, is the water box, and crossover tube get way too hot!! So, could a faulty waterbox be to blame? How could one check?

If the waterbox is getting hot then your cooling system is not injecting enough water into the exhaust stream for cooling. You may have to take the exhaust manifold and pipe off so you can inspect all cooling ports.
