    Re: oil in hull

I found that a citrus based degreaser, or simple green, works best.

Don't use anything that contains sodium hydroxide, as this is worse than pouring salt in the engine compartment.

The best degreaser i have ever used is cslled Grez Off. Made by knights. VERY powerfull. Just make sure that you read the bottle and wash it all off any aluminum before it dries. They sell it at ace hardware.

I had oil in my hull. Alot of oil. I basically had an empty hull when I started cleaning: No engine, I removed the gas tank. I used some dish soap. I figured if it can clean grease it can clean oil. I also figured it was mild enough not to hurt anything. It didn't work as good as other solvents (ie: Engine Degreaser), however, I felt alot better about using it inside my hull. With a little scrubbing & the garden hose it got the job done.
