Some of you might remember I sealed my SBT oil pump block off plate(going pre-mix) with thin paper gasket material and Black, VersaChem RTV sealant.(probably not the best choice)
It was suggested that I re-seal it using Permatex-The Right Stuff(which is a pretty good idea, but expensive)
Anyway I did a compatibility test by putting a glob of VersaChem on a board, letting it dry, and they immersing it in a mixture of gasoline, Penzoil Multipurpose and Penzoil 100% Synthetic TC-W3 oils. It’s been sitting in the jar for a month now and there has been no deterioration. It is still in one piece and has not dissolved.
So, if anyone else has done a similar thing you can sort of rest assured, it seems to hold together.
