  • New engine and no full power 780 SLT

I installed my new SBT premium engine with new plugs, rebuilt carbs, pre-mix setup, new Mikuni tripple fuel pump, new lines, new line valve due to previous engine blew hole in # 1 piston due to fuel starvation. The old engine ran great except at wot before it blew.

I did the correct break in and used the break in oil. I have noticed that it will maybe get 5200 RPM and a top speed of 33 MPH. I verified this with GPS. The old engine did over 6200 RPM and topped out at 48 MPH.

It seems to be lacking in power. When I got it home I did a compression test. Shows 90 to 94 PSI for all 3. Seems a litle low. Could this be the problem? It seems to run pretty good, such as not cutting out, just not developing full power.

Yes that is low. Please call in to warranty, and they can lookup the specs for your engine to see what it went out here at. 877 330 0231
