  • Keikin cdk 2 Problem too lean/ front piston

Hi i bought a secondhand Polaris 700 dlx not running the front piston was damaged looked like fuel shortage running too lean.

I checked the fuel system and carburetors everything seemed fine except both carbs pop off pressure was 28psi on both i know the pop off value should be 21-24psi i dont understand how its raise so high on both carbs. The fact that the rear carb gets the fuel supply first and the pop off pressure is two high on both would this cause the front cylinder to run leaner.

The valve and needle are 1.6 and the return spring is 9mm. I cleaned up carbs and reassembled the engine we ran the engine for a couple of minutes in the water and removed the head and it had start to burn the front piston again. Dose anyone have any ideas about this one it's got me??? Any help would be grateful.....thanks.

I recommend rebuilding the carbs. No, pop-off will not cause it to burn down, especially 28 psi.
