96 SL 900 Simple question

I cant find the original specs and have been told several differant answers.But can anyone tell me the correct fuel mixture using a good synthitic oil and the plug gap.The guy who just finished my repairs told me 100:1 ?Its been a while since i've run this ski and have lost my manuals.I beleive last time I pre-mixed at 40:1 Any help here before I blow it up!

100-1 is way to lean----I mix at 40-1 with Klotz BIA grade 2-cycle oil and have never fouled a plug. I suggest using Klotz oils in all your 2 stroke engines.
