    96 sltx 1050
Rear cyl housing, exhaust port cold. After cranking motor w/out water (about 30-45 sec), front cyl is hot. Middle cyl, pretty warm. Rear cyl, cold. Checking at cyl jug and exhaust manifold.
Just rebuild front cyl. New sleeve, pistons, rings (wrist pin retainer came out). Other two cyl were in excellent shape. Compression is 125+ across all three. Plugs (new) seem to be firing fine. Engine runs strong on trailer.
Same scenerio with water hook-up. WHY IS #3 SO MUCH COOLER THAN 1 AND 2?

My 1998 SLXH 1050 has experienced similar cool cylinder operation while running. I've run it for 2 years with problems. Two years ago I replaced the electronics box, coils, spark plug wires with another used set I had on hand. I thought I had it beat, but then it reappeared. Last year we used it for 2 weeks vacation. During that time it would intermittently run on 2, then 3, then 2 cylinders. We just kept running it. I hunted and hunted, but could not nail the problem. I have been reading a few other forum posts which describe notorious problems with stators and cdi's. I don't know. Have you found your solution?
