2000 POlaris virage

I have dome electrical problems wiht my virage i hook the battery up to i nothign happens the screen doesnt turn on nothign i was messing around wiht the wires before n i got the screen to go on wihtotu the lanyard in i put the lanyard in to start it i hit the start butotn and nothing happens the screen turn off now i cant even get the screen back on of anyone has anny idea on wat the problem might be

The gauge might be faulty. When you connect the battery you must connect the positive first then the neg. When disconnecting take off the neg. first then the pos. Voltage spikes from disconnecting and connecting the battery in the wrong order will damage the gauge.
