  • Help Me

I have a 1995 polaris SLX780. I just tried to start it and it sounded like it wanted to but it didnt. I took off the plugs to replace and figured let me check the compression. The front cylinder I put my finger over and I could feel movement of air. Same as the back cylinder. The middle cylinder did what it should, it blew my finger off the hole. Why would I only have compression on 1 cylinder.

    Re: Help Me

Ok I pulled the heads off and the back cylinder has a hole in it. The middle one is fine, the front one looks like part of the side melted. There is no damage to the cylinder walls. This is the second time the same cylinders have messed up. What causes this. Do you think it would be better to replace the whole engine?

      Re: Help Me

You have a lean condition with most likely your carbs. If it is not the carbs it would be an issue with an air leak from the crankcase causing the engine to run lean.
