  • 2001 Polaris Virage Problems...any ideas?

    Hi,

Back in October, I installed a new SBT engine in my 2001 Polaris Virage. It ran fine for the first 5 hours after installation. After taking it out of storage the other day, I replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the air filter and took it out. Last time someone took it out for a spin, a coolant hose slipped off and she got an overheating warning message. She immediately returned to the dock and it didn't seem to get too hot to me. I replaced the hose, rode it for another fifteen minutes or so without overheating or any other problems, and put it up. After about a week of storage, I took out the ski and put it in the water. Now it won't travel over 40mph. The starter went out as well. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Check the compression, you might have damaged the motor when you over heated it. If thats not the case you might have a needle and seat in the carb sticking and your not running on all cylinders.
